Sycamore Lions News Release --- Sycamore, IL, November 6th, 2007

Lion Kevin Brint is presented with the George Lazansky Distinguished Service Award

Kevin Brint, a member of the Sycamore Lions club was presented the George Lazansky Distinguished Service Award at their May 28th meeting. The George Lazansky Distinguished Service Award is presented annually to deserving Lions, Lionesses and Leos in District 1-J. It honors not only the recipient but its namesake, District 1-J’s first Governor who served in 1951-52. Then, as now, District 1-J led the State of Illinois in its service to the visually impaired, the hearing impaired and those with diabetes. Kevin is only the second member of the Sycamore club to be honored with this award.

This award is presented to only a handful of Lions, Lioness or Leos members in District 1-J each year.  It recognizes Lions Club members who lead by example in their own club, as well as taking on additional responsibilities within the district or state.  Lion Kevin has held almost every office in the Sycamore Lions Club, as well as chaired many of its committees.  In addition Kevin has chaired several district committees.  Currently he is treasurer for the Sycamore Club, as well as for the district wide Ski-for-Sight committee.  Kevin also holds a Melvin Jones Award, which is the highest honor bestowed by the Lions Clubs International Foundation.
