The Sycamore
Lions Club has just completed it's latest community service
project. A Community Events sign has been placed on Elm
Avenue in front of Soft Water City. This sign is up and
available to any Sycamore Area Not-for-profit, or community
oriented organization to publicize events of interest to the
community. Go to the Community Sign Page by clicking the
link on the left menu bar, or clicking on the sign itself for
information on how to get your event listed.
The Sycamore Lions Club is dedicated to improving the quality of life for the handicapped, the
poor, the sick and the aged. Its primary focus since Helen Keller
challenged the Lions to be "Knights of the Blind" has been preventing blindness,
and supporting programs for visually impaired individuals. In addition to
vision programs, the Sycamore Lions Club supports or sponsors a number of
humanitarian, civic and charitable projects through Sycamore Lions Charities,
Inc.

Since 1917, Lions clubs have
offered people the opportunity to give something back to their
communities. From involving members in projects as local as cleaning up
an area park or as far-reaching as bringing sight to the world's blind,
Lions clubs have always embraced those committed to building a brighter
future for their community.
Today with more than approximately
45,000 clubs in 197 countries and geographical areas,
the Lions Clubs are the largest service organization in the world.
The official motto of the Lions is "WE SERVE" and the Lions sponsor over
a half million projects annually spending over $275,000,000 globally.
Lions have
expanded their focus to help meet the ever-increasing needs of our
global community.
Our programs are continually
changing to meet new needs and greater demands, but our mission has
never wavered: "We Serve."
