The Sycamore Lions Club has just completed it's latest community service project. A Community Events sign has been placed on Elm Avenue in front of Soft Water City. This sign is up and available to any Sycamore Area Not-for-profit, or community oriented organization to publicize events of interest to the community. The Sycamore Lions Club is dedicated to improving the quality of life for the handicapped, the poor, the sick and the aged. Its primary focus since Helen Keller challenged the Lions to be "Knights of the Blind" has been preventing blindness, and supporting programs for visually impaired individuals. In addition to vision programs, the Sycamore Lions Club supports or sponsors a number of humanitarian, civic and charitable projects through Sycamore Lions Charities, Inc.
